Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Centre Manager for our Torquay Autocentre, leading a team of about 11 staff to deliver first-class customer service and strong financial performance. You’ll work with an Assistant Manager and Workshop Controller to drive operations, scheduling, and continuous improvement across service delivery.

Expect base salary around £42,000 with an uncapped monthly bonus, aiming for earnings up to £53,000 plus annual bonuses.

Qualifications

• Track record of success with teams and delivering results.
• Experience coaching and training colleagues on the job.
• Management experience including capability and performance management.
• Experience developing colleagues through technical training.
• History of delivering against sales targets and customer metrics.
• Experience meeting Health & Safety and quality standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of labour force scheduling and time management.
• IT proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and learning in-house systems.
• Possession of a current, full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the Centre to maximise profit.
• Lead a team of around 11 including technicians and customer services staff.
• Optimise workforce scheduling to meet customer demand and capacity.
• Analyse customer metrics and centre performance to exceed margins and targets.
