Job summary

Halfords Autocentre Apprenticeship offers hands-on training on servicing and diagnostics with exposure to a wide range of vehicles. You will learn to diagnose and repair, working both independently and as part of a team to meet high standards.

You will attend college day release, gain workplace safety knowledge, and develop engineering skills across vehicle inspection, servicing and electrical systems. Pay and progression reflect an apprentice role within a national retailer.

Qualifications

• Friendly, helpful, team-oriented person with strong desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Interest in cars and solving problems.
• Able to use hands and have a strong and fit attitude to work due to the manual work involved.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Enjoys working and fixing problems with cars.
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge and skills to become competent technicians in the workplace.
• Topics covered begin with workplace safety, engineering skills and leading on to vehicle inspection and servicing.
• Maintenance, repair and diagnosing faults around the engine, chassis and electrical systems.
