Job summary

Believecare in Preston is seeking a Team Leader – Support Worker to lead a small care team delivering person-centred support to two autistic individuals in their own home. You’ll provide hands-on support, model best practice, and mentor staff, while ensuring neuroaffirmative practice, dignity and independence.

The role includes supervising shifts, coordinating handovers, and safeguarding responsibilities. This is a full-time role with 40 hours per week, plus occasional sleep-in shifts; a full UK

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small care team.
• Ability to follow individual support plans and risk assessments.
• Neuroaffirmative, person-centred approach.
• Flexible to sleep-in shifts and 12-hour shifts.
• Full UK driving licence may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on support promoting autonomy, dignity and meaningful participation.
• Ensure support is guided by each person's wishes, preferences, communication style, strengths and aspirations.
• Promote a neuroaffirmative approach to communicate and support autistic individuals.
• Lead and coach the staff team, ensuring consistent, compassionate care.
• Coordinate handovers and maintain accurate records and risk assessments.
