Job summary

Blue Ribbon in Blackburn is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead and mentor a team, delivering person-centred care to individuals with autism and learning disabilities. You will ensure daily living support, adherence to care plans, and high standards of hygiene and safety.

The role involves supervising staff, organizing shifts, maintaining documentation, and participating in on-call leadership to support service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a care environment.
• Background in health and social care with best practices.
• Ability to problem-solve and use initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide support workers, ensuring they have tools and confidence to provide high-quality care.
• Oversee daily documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Contribute to supervisions and performance reviews of Support Workers.
• Organise and lead shifts, ensuring responsibilities are allocated and completed.
• Identify performance issues within the team and elevate where necessary.
• Take responsibility for daily audits to ensure the service meets regulatory and company standards.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times, acting as first point of contact for guidance and escalation.
• Assist with new colleague inductions, including agency staff.
• Participate in the Senior on-call rota, providing leadership support as needed.
