Job summary

GREEN WRYTHE PRIMARY SCHOOL is seeking a dedicated support role to assist pupils, teachers, and the broader school community. You will supervise pupils, help implement EHCP outcomes and personal care programs, support inclusive practices, and promote pupil wellbeing.

The role also involves creating a calm, structured environment, planning differentiated activities, and tracking progress against EHCP goals while supporting behaviour management and safety during school hours and activities.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs (SEN) desirable.
• Ability to work in a structured, calm environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide support for pupils to ensure safety and access to activities.
• Assist with EHCP/Wellbeing plans and Personal Care programmes.
• Establish constructive relationships and promote inclusion.
• Create a low-arousal, structured environment tailored to sensory needs.
• Implement autism-specific strategies in liaison with the teacher.
• Monitor pupil responses and record progress against EHCP outcomes.
• Support with behaviour management and de-escalation plans.
• Assist with planning differentiated learning activities and sensory diets.
• Prepare and adapt sensory resources and visual schedules.
• Attend meetings and contribute to school ethos and safeguarding.
