A welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with autism and other additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.

You will contribute to a calm, structured learning environment and adapt activities to meet individual needs, supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing while fostering inclusive

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEND, especially autism.
  • Patient, compassionate and understanding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with autism to engage with learning and classroom activities.
  • Help pupils develop communication, social and independence skills.
  • Provide a calm, structured and supportive environment.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils with their emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and other school staff.
  • Encourage every child to reach their individual potential.
