A welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with autism and other additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.

You will contribute to a calm, structured learning environment and adapt activities to meet individual needs, supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing while fostering inclusive

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to help children with autism thrive in a primary school environment?

A welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with autism and other additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and enjoy school life.

The role will involve:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Supporting children with autism to engage positively with learning and classroom activities.
  • Helping pupils develop communication, social and independence skills.
  • Providing a calm, structured and supportive environment.
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting pupils with their emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo and other members of the school team.
  • Encouraging every child to achieve their individual potential.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism, or a strong desire to develop their experience in this area.
  • Is patient, compassionate and understanding.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with children.
  • Is confident working as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
  • Is committed to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
