Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Perry Barr area. This is a full-time role, five days per week, supporting pupils within a specialist SEND provision.

You will work with Reception and Year 1 pupils, assisting children with a range of needs, primarily Autism. There are around seven pupils and numbers may change as new pupils join throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Good understanding of Autism and its presentation in schools.
• Adaptable and flexible in approach.
• Patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships.
• Team player who can work with colleagues.
• Available to work full-time, five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning, communication, social development, engagement and emotional needs.
• Work as part of a team with the Class Teacher and another SEND Teaching Assistant.
• No personal care required for this position.
