Job summary

Engage Education is currently working in partnership with a primary school in Leeds to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners with ASC.

Starting as soon as possible on a long-term temporary basis, with potential to become permanent, you will work one-to-one and with other support staff, providing feedback to teachers and parents. You will assist pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD and other learning needs.

Qualifications

• A range of behaviour management techniques.
• To have worked with learners with a range of needs.
• The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods.
• To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time.
• A resilient attitude.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs.
• Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class.
• Providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Assisting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities.
