Job summary

Supply Desk in Hatfield is seeking a dedicated ASC SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and additional needs starting this September.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups, helping with communication, social, emotional and independence skills, under the guidance of teachers and support staff.

This full-time role offers safeguarding training, ongoing professional development and a supportive team in a forward-thinking school.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Passion for supporting learning, communication, independence, and social skills.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable approach to pupil needs.
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and inclusive ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with ASC and additional needs
  • Support pupils with learning, communication, social, emotional, and independence skills
  • Work with teachers to implement individual learning plans
  • Liaise with parents/carers and professionals to support pupil development
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve best outcomes
