Job summary

Axcis Education in North Birmingham is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with ASC and additional needs. This role involves 1:1 and small-group support to help students access the curriculum and reach individual targets.

Enjoy free CPD training, expert local consultant support, and opportunities to build SEND experience. The position is full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule and competitive daily pay.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism, SEND, SEMH, ADHD, or challenging behaviour.
• Experience in education, youth work, residential care or similar settings.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism and additional SEND needs in the classroom.
• Provide tailored 1:1 support and small-group interventions.
• Help students access the curriculum and achieve targets.
• Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Use positive behaviour management to promote engagement and regulation.
• Build professional relationships to keep students safe and supported.
• Develop students' communication, independence and life skills.
• Work with teachers to deliver personalised learning plans.
• Create a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
