Job summary

Axcis Education in Fazakerley is seeking a Teaching Assistant – SEND School (Autism Specialist) to support pupils aged 5–16 with autism and additional needs in a dedicated environment.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, offering a small-class setting, ongoing training, and the opportunity to contribute to EHCP targets while collaborating with teachers and therapists to promote communication, independence and well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or additional needs.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Understanding of autism, sensory needs and communication differences.
• Passion for SEND education.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help pupils access learning and achieve EHCP targets.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff.
