Axcis Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition in a secondary school in Hampshire. This full-time, term-time only position offers a daily rate of £92–£100 depending on experience.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, classroom assistance, and applying autism-friendly strategies to help students access learning, stay engaged and develop communication and social skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with ASC
• Good understanding of autism-friendly approaches
• Experience in education, care, residential support or youth work
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Calm, patient and empathetic nature
• Positive and adaptable throughout the school day
• Experience supporting ADHD/SEMH or additional needs would be advantageous

The Role

About You

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with ASC
• A good understanding of autism-friendly approaches and strategies
• Experience within education, care, residential support, youth work or similar settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient and empathetic nature
• The ability to remain positive and adaptable throughout the school day
• Experience supporting students with ADHD, SEMH or additional learning needs would be advantageous
