Job summary

Sprint Education Recruitment is seeking an HLTA or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to lead the Internal Alternative Provision for children with autism in Leicester. The role involves directing a team of five TAs, supporting non-verbal pupils, and carrying forward the current provision with the existing lead.

The start date is flexible, with full-time hours initially until Christmas and potential extension if a good fit. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 3 Certificate with relevant school-based experience.
• Good knowledge of autism and experience supporting non-verbal or pre-verbal pupils.
• Ability to direct and manage other adults with warmth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Internal Alternative Provision as its HLTA.
• Direct a team of five teaching assistants.
• Support pupils with complex needs, many non-verbal or pre-verbal.
• Collaborate with current provision lead to carry forward existing plans.
• Help the provision settle into mainstream where needed.
