Job summary

Aspire People, Leicester, is seeking an experienced Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a Leicester setting. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils re-engage with education and develop confidence.

Experience in SEN/SEMH, challenging behaviour, and building positive relationships is essential. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with ongoing support and the potential for long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in SEN/SEMH or similar settings.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group support and assist teachers with lessons.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support children and young people with additional needs.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Support behaviour management and emotional regulation.
• Encourage pupils to engage positively with their education.
• Help create a calm, structured and supportive environment.
• Assist teachers with lessons and activities.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team.
