Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a Leicester setting. Location: Leicester. Pay: £105 per day. Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 5 days a week. Start date: ASAP / dependent on availability.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, helping those with additional needs and SEMH challenges re-engage with education while building confidence and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEN/SEMH/behaviour or alternative provision settings.
• Patient, calm and resilient with ability to support challenging behaviour.
• Able to build strong relationships and set boundaries consistently.
• Reliable and available to work five days a week.

Responsibilities

Aspire People have partnered with an Alternative Provision setting in Leicester who are looking for an experienced and resilient Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This role is ideal for someone who has experience working with children and young people who may have additional needs, challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or barriers to mainstream education.

You will play an important role in helping pupils re‑engage with education, develop their confidence and make positive progress.

About the Role

As an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant, you will:

The successful candidate must have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, SEMH, behaviour, alternative provision or similar setting.

You will also need to be:

• Consistent and confident when setting boundaries
• Adaptable and able to respond to different individual needs
• Passionate about helping young people succeed
