Job summary

Sprint Education Recruitment is seeking an HLTA or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to lead its Internal Alternative Provision for children with autism in Leicester. You will direct a team of five TAs and work alongside the current provision lead to carry forward the programme.

The role is full-time until Christmas with potential extension for the right person. You will support pupils with complex needs, many non-verbal, and gain ongoing consultancy support from Sprint Education Recruitment.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 3 Certificate with school-based experience.
• Good knowledge of autism.
• Experience supporting non-verbal or pre-verbal pupils.
• Confidence directing and managing other adults.
• Preference for SEN work over mainstream.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Internal Alternative Provision as its HLTA.
• Direct a team of five Level 2 teaching assistants.
• Support pupils with complex needs, many non-verbal or pre-verbal.
• Collaborate with the current provision lead to carry forward their work.
• Help the provision settle and integrate with mainstream classes.
