TPF Recruitment is seeking an Audit Manager to join a growing firm of chartered accountants in Rochester. You will manage audits end-to-end, develop the team and contribute to a clear route toward Responsible Individual status.

The role emphasizes practical work-life balance, with careful planning and realistic deadlines. You will oversee client relationships, lead audits, and drive technical excellence within a collaborative, supportive practice.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent.
• UK audit experience in a practice.
• Knowledge of UK auditing & accounting standards.
• Experience managing multiple assignments to deadlines.
• Confident reviewing audit work and statutory accounts.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Commercial, client-focused approach.
• Interest in mentoring colleagues and team growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients from planning to completion.
• Ensure audits meet standards, budgets and deadlines.
• Lead audit planning and completion meetings.
• Review audit files before RI review.
• Review statutory accounts for compliance with standards.
• Act as main client contact for technical queries.
• Identify significant matters and discuss with RI.
• Plan workloads, allocate resources and address staffing.
• Coach colleagues and support progression.
