Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking an Attendance Welfare Officer for Oldfield School in Bath. This term-time role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am–3pm, with immediate start.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic attendance team and support pupils with attendance and welfare, while upholding safeguarding standards. The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, a positive and professional approach, and a commitment to working with young people.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Join the attendance team to support pupil attendance and welfare.
• Demonstrate positive, professional conduct and good communication with students, staff and families.
• Assist with safeguarding procedures and DBS checks as required.
• Coordinate absence monitoring and ensure timely reporting to school leadership.
