Job summary

Wayman Education is recruiting a dedicated Attendance Officer for an independent secondary school in Richmond. You will monitor daily attendance and punctuality, liaise with parents and staff, and maintain rigorous records within the school's MIS to support pupils’ educational outcomes.

The role requires sensitivity, strong communication, and the ability to handle confidential information while working closely with pastoral teams to identify attendance barriers and implement appropriate support

Qualifications

• Previous experience in school administration, attendance, pastoral support or a similar role.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking with parents, pupils and staff.
• Good IT skills and experience using school databases or MIS systems.
• Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality across the school.
• Check attendance registers, follow up unexplained absences and contact parents.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and record information on the MIS.
• Identify patterns of absence and report to pastoral leaders and senior staff.
• Support attendance meetings and document interventions and actions.
