Many pupils have experienced significant challenges outside of education, and the school is committed to removing barriers to learning through strong relationships, consistent support and a trauma-informed approach.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in attendance, family liaison, pastoral support, safeguarding, education welfare or children's services who is passionate about helping vulnerable young people engage successfully with education.

  • Support pupils returning to school following periods of absence.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports.

  • Promote a positive culture around attendance, punctuality and engagement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working within schools, education welfare, safeguarding, family support or pastoral care.

  • Knowledge of attendance procedures and barriers to school attendance.

  • Experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Confidence managing difficult conversations in a supportive and professional manner.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

  • A calm, resilient and solution-focused approach.
