Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a well-established school in Lichfield to recruit an Attendance Officer for an immediate start. The role focuses on monitoring attendance, managing punctuality, and implementing proactive support for students.

You will work with senior leaders, pastoral staff, and parents to promote regular attendance and safeguard student wellbeing in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in administration, attendance monitoring, pastoral support, or a school office (advantageous, though transferable skills are welcome)
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Confident, empathetic communication skills when dealing with students, parents, and colleagues
• Strong IT literacy, including database management and report writing
• A professional, proactive approach to student safeguarding and confidentiality
• A legal right to work in the UK

Responsabilités

• Monitor daily pupil attendance, punctuality, and absence records to ensure data accuracy
• Contact parents and carers regarding unexplained absences, persistent lateness, and emerging attendance concerns
• Identify attendance patterns and collaborate with pastoral leaders to implement targeted support strategies
• Maintain attendance databases, prepare regular reports, and provide key insights to senior leadership
• Support attendance meetings, parental consultations, and student intervention programs
• Work alongside safeguarding and pastoral teams to identify and support vulnerable pupils
• Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure all procedures align with school policies and statutory guidance
