Job summary

Ideagen is seeking an Associate Sales Engineer to support the technical side of the sales process from Nottinghamshire, with a hybrid work pattern. This entry point role offers structured training, mentorship and hands-on customer experience.

You will collaborate with Account Executives and Managers to tailor demonstrations, build demo environments and deepen knowledge of Ideagen's EHS, Quality and Compliance solutions.

Qualifications

• Previous technical, customer-facing or pre-sales experience, or a recent graduate with interest in tech and sales.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with confidence to engage customers.
• Willingness to learn software solutions and how they address business challenges.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and build strong working relationships.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with enterprise software or SaaS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support discovery conversations, product demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities for prospective and existing customers.
• Partner closely with Account Executives and Account Managers to understand customer requirements and help position the right solutions.
• Prepare demonstration environments, presentations and supporting materials for customer engagements.
• Develop knowledge of Ideagen's products across EHS, Quality and Compliance.
• Learn and apply Ideagen's sales methodologies, qualification processes and competitive positioning strategies.
• Gather customer and prospect feedback and share insights to support product and sales improvements.
• Utilise approved AI tools and technologies to enhance preparation, productivity and customer engagement activities.

As an Associate Sales Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the technical side of the sales process, working alongside Account Executives and Account Managers to demonstrate how Ideagen's solutions solve real business challenges. This is an excellent entry point into a Sales Engineering career, offering structured training, mentorship and hands-on experience with customers, technology and solution consulting.

You'll be supported by experienced Sales Engineers and Sales Engineering leadership, developing your technical, commercial and customer-facing skills while building expertise across Ideagen's product portfolio.

Skills and Experience

• Prior experience in a technical, customer-facing, pre-sales or related role, or a recent graduate with a strong interest in technology and sales.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage with customers and stakeholders.
• Curious and motivated to learn how software solutions solve complex business challenges.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Comfortable learning technical concepts and explaining them clearly to different audiences.
• Exposure to enterprise software, SaaS or technology solutions would be beneficial, but is not essential.
• Experience within regulated industries such as EHS, Quality or Compliance is advantageous, though full training will be provided.
