Associate Project Manager

London | Up to £85,000 + package | Route to Partnership

Carriera is working with a highly regarded property consultancy to recruit an Associate Project Manager into its established 16-strong London project management team.

This is an opportunity for a genuinely well-rounded Project Manager who wants variety.

Rather than being tied to one sector or project type, you will work across a diverse portfolio spanning industrial, retail, food & beverage, education, healthcare and commercial property, delivering everything from fit-outs and refurbishments through to new-build and complex cut-and-carve projects.

The position offers considerable autonomy, direct client exposure and a genuine route through to Partnership.

The opportunity:

You will join an established team of 16 Project Managers delivering projects for a broad mix of private and public sector clients.

The workload is deliberately varied and could see you moving between:

• Industrial and logistics projects
• Retail developments and refurbishments
• Food & beverage projects
• Schools and education
• Healthcare
• Commercial property
• Fit-out and refurbishment
• New-build development
• Cut-and-carve and complex refurbishment

This breadth makes the role particularly attractive for someone who enjoys being a Project Manager rather than becoming overly specialised within one sector.

The role:

As an Associate Project Manager, you will take responsibility for projects from initial brief and feasibility through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading projects from inception through design, procurement, construction and handover
• Acting as the principal point of contact for clients
• Managing multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams
• Developing programmes, budgets and project delivery strategies
• Managing procurement and tender processes
• Chairing project and progress meetings
• Managing programme, cost, quality and delivery risks
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Contributing to business development and repeat instructions
• Working closely with senior leadership as you progress towards Partnership

About you:

The key requirement is breadth of experience.

We are looking for a fully rounded Project Manager who understands the complete development and construction process and is comfortable operating across different sectors and project types.

You are likely to have:

• Strong consultancy-side project management experience
• Experience delivering refurbishment and fit-out projects
• New-build project experience
• Exposure to cut-and-carve or technically complex refurbishment
• Experience across multiple property sectors
• The ability to independently lead projects and manage clients
• Strong commercial, contractual and procurement knowledge
• The confidence to manage consultants, contractors and multiple stakeholders
• MRICS, MCIOB or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous
