Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join its Energy Solutions team, delivering low-carbon energy centres, private wire networks and resilient power distribution for private sector clients.

You will lead 11kV and LV designs from feasibility to construction, produce drawings and reports, conduct site surveys, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams on decarbonisation projects across buildings and healthcare estates.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification and/or experience.
• Experience in electrical design within private sector, private wire, distribution, transmission or power distribution environments.
• Understanding of 11kV and LV electrical systems and a desire to broaden HV and LV design expertise.
• Knowledge of low-carbon energy centres, district energy schemes or decarbonisation-led infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical designs for 11kV and LV systems from feasibility through to construction.
• Design private wire networks, low-carbon energy centres and district energy schemes.
• Support the design of electrical services for energy and power distribution projects.
• Undertake site surveys, quality audits and assessments of existing facilities.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, schedules, specifications, feasibility studies and technical reports.
• Produce CDM risk assessments and ensure health and safety hazards are identified and managed.
• Review contractor design submissions and coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support and mentoring of junior engineers while developing client relationships and project management activities.
