Job summary

WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Solutions team in the UK. The role focuses on the design and development of private wire networks and low-carbon energy centres within district energy schemes, supporting a multidisciplinary team on decarbonisation projects.

You will lead electrical designs (11kV and LV) from feasibility through to construction, conduct site surveys, engage with clients, and produce comprehensive drawings and reports.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Desire to broaden skills to HV/LV electrical system design.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical designs (11kV and LV) from feasibility to construction.
• Undertake site surveys and quality audits.
• Meet with clients and contractors for project delivery under guidance.
• Produce drawings, calculations, schedules, specifications and reports.
• Survey existing facilities and develop resilient upgrade strategies.
• Prepare feasibility studies and technical reports.
• Produce CDM risk assessments.
• Review contractor design submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers where appropriate.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify and manage Health and Safety risks in projects.
