Job Description

Due to increased workload and securing of new clients across the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for an Associate Director to join our growing Contract Services division in our UK offices.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

We are the first consultancy to be recognised by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) for excellence in the procurement processes that it provides for clients in the construction sector. The Opportunity

The individual will work and lead our highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services to some of the larger brands and on the most exciting programmes and projects. This role will be a part of our growing Contract Services team and play a significant part in the continued expansion of our team and our services in this period of growth, such as Sustainable Procurement, Transformation, Renewables, Digital Procurement and Net Zero Strategies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to Public and Private sector clients.
  • Lead and manage end to end procurement services on major projects or programmes.
  • Lead and support the development of the procurement services provided by Turner & Townsend.
  • Lead and develop a team to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.
  • Managing client relationships and related commission outputs and deliverables.
  • Lead and support business development and marketing of the Contract Services team’s service proposition.
  • Lead on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work winning capability of the contract services division.
  • Support the delivery of both team and wider business targets.

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in and/or knowledge of regulated procurement, particularly Public Contract Regulations 2015, with awareness of potential changes to the public procurement regime.
  • Leading strategic major procurement projects or programmes for Public and Private sector clients.
  • Strong background in tender preparation, development and management, including negotiation.
  • Commission, client relationship, and people management experience.
  • Experience developing and using various forms of contracts with focus on NEC and JCT.
  • Cross-sector experience with a strong public procurement background is desirable.
  • Willingness to work toward MCIPs accreditation.
  • Business generation including bid development.
  • Degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law or procurement preferred.
  • Experience in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure sectors preferred.
  • Security Clearance (SC) – currently valid or restorable.

  • Ability to lead and develop strategies and documentation for major procurement projects compliant with Public Sector Regulations or equivalent.
  • Capability to manage and supervise delivery of others for successful outcomes.
