Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Associate Director Mechanical Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary mechanical design delivery for water projects across the UK. The role involves directing teams, maintaining design quality, and managing scope, time, and budget to milestones.

You will work within the D&AT practice, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to bid proposals while advancing technical excellence. Hybrid work pattern with multiple UK offices is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Mechanical Engineer with demonstrable leadership of large-scale mechanical design delivery.
• Experience in pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing systems.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards, CDM and DSEAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Mechanical engineers for delivery of design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Develop project design deliverables for mechanical aspects and manage time and budgets to milestones.
• Review and approve technical deliverables such as reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Provide technical leadership within the D&AT practice and promote best practices to improve processes.
• Grow and manage the Mechanical Engineering capabilities regionally and nationally.
