Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Associate Director - Infrastructure Planning to lead major UK infrastructure projects, delivering strategic planning and consenting advice across DCOs and other regimes. You will mentor teams, manage client relationships and help grow our national Infrastructure Planning capability.

You will bring MRTPI qualification and a proven track record in major projects, with strong knowledge of the UK planning landscape.

Qualifications

• MRTPI qualification or equivalent with significant experience in major infrastructure planning or energy projects.
• Proven track record of leading and managing complex planning projects including DCOs or other major infrastructure regimes.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning and infrastructure consenting landscape.
• Experience providing strategic planning and consenting advice to clients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex workloads and priorities.
• Proactive, commercially aware and results–oriented.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Leading the planning and consenting elements of major infrastructure projects, including DCOs and other regimes.
• Providing strategic planning, consenting and EIA advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Managing complex planning projects to programme, budget and quality.
• Acting as a trusted adviser to clients and developing long-term relationships.
• Leading project teams and collaborating with planning, EIA and other disciplines.
• Supporting business development, including proposals and client presentations.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring colleagues.
• Keeping up to date with planning policy, legislation and regimes.
• Travelling nationally to support projects, clients and teams.
