Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Associate Director in Infrastructure Planning to lead major projects across the UK. You will provide strategic planning, consenting and EIA advice, manage complex workloads and build strong client relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

You will oversee DCOs or similar regimes, drive business development, mentor colleagues and stay abreast of evolving planning policy and legislation. This role offers national travel and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• MRTPI qualification or equivalent is essential.
• Proven track record leading and managing complex planning projects, including DCOs or other major infrastructure regimes.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning and infrastructure consenting landscape.
• Experience providing strategic planning and consenting advice to clients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build trusted client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and consenting elements of major infrastructure projects (DCOs and others).
• Provide strategic planning, consenting and EIA advice across project lifecycles.
• Manage complex projects to programme, budget and quality targets.
• Act as trusted adviser to clients and nurture long-term relationships.
• Lead project teams and collaborate with planning, EIA and other technical disciplines.
• Support business development: identify opportunities, prepare proposals, contribute to client presentations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Stay updated with changes in planning policy and consenting regimes.
• Travel nationally as required.
