Job summary

Stantec seeks an Associate Director – EIA / DCO to lead environmental consenting for major infrastructure projects in the UK. Based in Bristol, London or Reading, you will drive EIA delivery, provide strategic environmental advice and lead cross-disciplinary teams through scoping, assessment and examination stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for DCO applications and other major infrastructure projects.
• Provide strategic environmental advice on assessment, consenting strategy and complex environmental issues.
• Lead EIA and consenting workstreams from inception through scoping, assessment, consultation, Environmental Statement preparation, submission and examination.
• Advise on Planning Act 2008, EIA legislation and planning/consenting requirements.
• Oversee preparation, coordination and QA of Environmental Statements, scoping reports and consultation materials.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams ensuring robust, proportionate environmental assessments.
• Lead management of environmental risks, constraints and interfaces with practical delivery solutions.
• Provide guidance on consultation responses, statutory engagement and examination questions.
• Build strong relationships with clients, planners, consultees, regulators and local authorities.
• Oversee project delivery including budgets, resources, programmes and quality.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and win new work across infrastructure and environment sectors.
• Lead and contribute to bids, tenders and business development for EIA and DCO services.
• Support strategic growth plans for environmental assessment and consenting capability.
• Mentor colleagues with technical leadership and knowledge sharing.
