Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Associate Director to join its Bridge Engineering team in the UK. You will provide senior technical and project leadership across bridge commissions, leading complex design, assessment and inspection work while guiding feasibility through construction.

You will develop client relationships, identify new opportunities and support bids, with a focus on growth of Stantec’s bridge engineering capabilities. Hybrid working and collaboration across UK offices are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status with ICE or IStructE.
• Experience leading bridge engineering and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership across bridge projects and programmes.
• Lead delivery of complex bridge design, assessment and inspection projects.
• Provide technical direction from feasibility to construction.
• Review and assure technical work, drawings, specs and reports.
• Act as a senior technical advisor to clients and project teams.
• Build trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify opportunities for new work and support bids and fee estimates.
• Support business development strategies for the bridge team.
• Ensure safety, commercial delivery and high technical standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across UK and international offices.
• Input into major infrastructure schemes and strategic projects.
• Develop standards, capability and best practice within structures.
• Mentor engineers and support professional development.
• Support recruitment and resource planning.
• Contribute to strategic growth of the bridge capability.
• Represent Stantec at industry events and client meetings.
