Job description

Interpath is an international and fast-growing advisory business with deep expertise in a broad range of specialisms spanning deals, advisory and restructuring capabilities. We deliver tangible results for global businesses, their investors, and stakeholders when complex problems arise, and critical decisions need to be made. Interpath is agile, independent, and conflict-free, and our passion for doing what’s right, every time, sets us apart.

Our diverse teams provide specialist technical knowledge combined with deep sector experience across our service line specialisms. Since our foundation in 2021, Interpath has grown rapidly, and we now have a presence across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, BVI, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Barbados, and Hong Kong. By 2030 we aim to be one of the world’s leading advisory firms with a truly global footprint.

Our Corporate Simplification team specialises in Members’ Voluntary Liquidations (MVLs) and has helped to successfully prepare for and implement the elimination of thousands of solvent legal entities, both on a standalone basis and working alongside tax, legal and accounting specialists as part of broader group reorganisation/Legal Entity Rationalisation (LER) projects.

We are seeking an Associate to join our UK team. This is a hybrid role, based in our Glasgow office, supporting our Assistant Managers and management team across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our hard working client focussed team, within a successful and growing international business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Adding opportunities and contacts to our CRM system
  • Onboarding our clients by performing conflict checks, AML checks and completing all internal client and engagement acceptance procedures
  • Completing due diligence searches (land registry, pensions, ICO, health and safety, etc)
  • Producing liquidation appointment papers
  • Preparing statutory filings, advertising and notification documentation
  • Preparing standard correspondence (email and letter)
  • Logging and assisting with the adjudication of creditor claims
  • Preparing VAT returns and VAT deregistration requests
  • Corresponding with HMRC (CT Services, VAT, PAYE, MVL helpdesk) by email, letter and phone call
  • Liaising with internal finance colleagues to generate invoices
  • Processing payments (supplier invoices, fees, distributions to creditors and shareholders, etc)
  • Ensuring internal and external deadlines and statutory/other compliance requirements are met
  • Maintaining documentation via our electronic document management system in accordance with the department file structure
  • Researching complex groups and other ad hoc targeting tasks
  • Completing other ad hoc administrative tasks as directed
  • Be highly organised with good time management skills and capable of dealing with multiple tasks and responsibilities with changing priorities/deadlines
  • Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a professional and positive telephone/video conference manner
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment and dealing with client onboarding/AML, MVL and the IPS software system would be preferrable but not essential. Training on all systems will be provided.
  • Candidates must have at least 4 Highers (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • A college HND/HNC (or equivalent) or a degree is preferrable but not essential.
