AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure division has a vacancy in our Manchester office for an Associate Building Surveyor to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, delivering a full suite of Building Surveying duties. We offer varied and interesting work with high-profile public and private sector clients.

This role offers excellent prospects for an individual with strong ambition to progress, enjoys collaborative work, and has experience in managing client relationships and legal and technical issues.

We are looking for someone with technical competence, team management skills, lateral thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and strong commercial awareness to provide first-class client service.

This position is ideal for an Associate Level Building Surveyor with post-qualification experience seeking career development within a forward-thinking organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and deliver a range of building surveying and project management duties across various projects and sectors.
2. Assist in developing new and repeat business across all sectors.
3. Manage client relationships and ensure quality service delivery per project.
4. Support senior managers in daily business operations, including:
   • Project management and Contract Administration for larger projects.
   • Condition and measured surveys.
   • Design and implement small to medium projects.
   • Due diligence surveys.
5. Apply standard building contracts such as JCT and NEC.
6. Stay informed on industry issues and best practices.
7. Develop bids and manage bid processes.
8. Act as primary client interface, ensuring timely and quality service.
9. Experience in sectors like education, local authorities, healthcare, government, and infrastructure projects.
10. Conduct defect analysis, surveys, and produce reports and specifications.
11. Mentor and train junior surveyors and participate in APC programs.
12. Understand principles of quality, safety, and environmental management in projects.
13. Deliver pre- and post-contract project management services.
14. Manage frameworks, teams, and deliver commissions under framework agreements, ensuring revenue targets and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

• BSc (Hons) Building Surveying RICS accredited degree.
• Full member of RICS.
• Demonstrable all-round surveying experience with client-facing and work-winning skills.
• Experience in pre- and post-contract project management.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to build profitable services and high-performing teams.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel, with awareness of BIM systems.
• Experience in managing and mentoring team members, including APC graduates.
• Experience managing client expectations.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements.
