Senior/Associate Building Surveyor – Manchester | Full-Time | Commercial & Insurance Projects

Are you an experienced Building Surveyor ready to take on a varied and rewarding role in a growing consultancy? A respected multidisciplinary firm is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join their dynamic Manchester-based team, supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial and insurance-related projects across the region.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Conduct building inspections and provide technical advice on design, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and construction.
  2. Undertake acquisition surveys, defect investigations, condition reports, and measured surveys.
  3. Prepare professional reports, schedules of work, and technical specifications.
  4. Manage large-scale projects independently, delivering high-quality consultancy services.
  5. Administer building contracts in line with current industry standards.
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including CDM 2015, Party Wall, Building Regulations, and planning laws.
  7. Support and mentor APC candidates, contributing to team knowledge and development.
  8. Maintain a professional approach to client service, communication, and project delivery.
What We're Looking For:
  1. MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor (or equivalent qualification).
  2. Strong consultancy experience with broad technical knowledge across commercial property types.
  3. Proficiency in defect diagnosis, report writing, and contract administration.
  4. Familiarity with insurance-related repair work (preferred).
  5. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget.
  7. Knowledge of statutory requirements and construction-related legislation.
  8. Methodical thinker with strong analytical and IT skills.
  9. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally as needed.
