Job summary

MAG (Airports Group) is seeking an Assisted Travel – Driver at East Midlands Airport. The role supports disabled customers and those with reduced mobility, driving Ambulift vehicles as part of a team of up to 20.

The position is permanent full-time, working 42 hours per week with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (2 days followed by 2 nights). The successful candidate will deliver exceptional service, coordinate with airport partners, and assist with check-in and passenger escort through security and

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with up to 6 points.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.

Summary

Assisted Travel – Driver

The role

The aim of this role is to provide exceptional inclusive customer service to disabled customers and customers with reduced mobility. As key members of our dedicated team, our Assisted Travel Drivers play a crucial role in ensuring an effortless and equitable travel experience for all our customers. They will work as part of a team of up to 20 people, driving Ambulift vehicles from the terminal to the aircraft.

This role will include the following responsibilities:

• Provide personalised assistance to disabled customers and customers with reduced mobility, ensuring their airport experience is an effortless and enjoyable part of their holiday.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with other airport departments.
• Assist customers with check-in procedures.
• Escort passengers through security and immigration.
• Respond promptly and effectively to customer inquiries, concerns, and requests, demonstrating excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

What will make you successful in the role?

We are looking for someone with outstanding customer service skills, preferably with experience in customer facing industry – retail, hospitality, sales, and similar. You will be a natural communicator, with plenty of empathy and a natural aptitude towards problem solving.

You must have a valid drivers license with a maximum of 6 points and able to drive manual as well as automatic
