Job summary

BP plc is seeking an experienced marine engineering professional for an Assistant Vessel Manager role in London. The position combines office work with remote days, focusing on planning maintenance across LNG vessels and supporting a small team of engineers.

It is a development role with a clear path toward Vessel Manager. Initial duties include coordinating four seagoing engineers, scheduling activities and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Senior Engineering Certificate of Competency or Marine Engineering degree.
• Sea-going experience in LNG vessels or equivalent shore-based technical management role.
• Experience with gas-fuelled engines and vessel maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate a team of seagoing maintenance engineers.
• Plan and schedule vessel maintenance activities across the fleet.
• Ensure maintenance is properly resourced and delivered safely and reliably.
• Assist with logistics coordination and crew liaison.
