Job summary

bp seeks an experienced marine engineering professional to join as Assistant Vessel Manager, with a hybrid pattern of four days in the office and one remote day. You will support maintenance planning across vessels, coordinate resources, and develop towards Vessel Manager, gaining exposure to fleet operations and dry-docking activity.

The role requires senior marine qualifications and experience with LNG systems, gas engines, and shipboard operations, plus leadership potential and a structured

Qualifications

• Senior Engineering Certificate of Competency and/or a degree in Marine Engineering.
• Sea going experience in LNG carriers or equivalent shore based technical management.
• Experience with gas fuelled reciprocating engines, hydrocarbon gas systems and LNG related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule vessel maintenance activities.
• Support a team of four seagoing maintenance engineers.
• Ensure maintenance work is appropriately resourced and delivered safely.
• Assist with logistics coordination for vessel operations.
• Develop knowledge to progress towards Vessel Manager role.
