Job summary

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers in London is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to maintain and service diesel-powered vessels. The role requires hands-on technical leadership on shift patterns, including nights, to keep the fleet operational.

You'll work with the engineering team to drive maintenance, reliability, and safety improvements across all vessels and supporting facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policy.

Qualifications

• Experience with medium-sized diesel engines.
• Willingness to work shifts including nights.
• Health and safety compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure teams comply with Health and Safety regulations and policies.
• Supervise and coordinate engineers on shift for effective service.
• Drive technical development of vessels to ensure efficient operation.
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and servicing of vessels and systems.
• Ensure mechanical systems are safety checked in line with policy and legislation.
• Keep vessels in service by prioritising maintenance during quieter periods.
• Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on vessels as required.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to define and review technical improvements and reporting.
• Undertake other relevant duties as requested by HOD and senior management.
