Job description

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced marine engineering professional to join us as an Assistant Vessel Manager. This role follows a hybrid working pattern of four days per week in the office and one day working remotely. There is flexibility around the remote-working day, subject to operational needs and reasonable commuting arrangements. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in marine engineering, gas-burning engines and vessel maintenance who is ready to develop their career ashore. Direct people management responsibilities will be limited initially, with accountability increasing as you develop within the role. As your experience and capability develop, you will:

  • Gain exposure to the wider responsibilities of vessel management.
  • Build the competency required to provide cover during Vessel Manager absences.
  • Take on greater accountability for vessel operations and fleet management activity.
  • Support ship visits and vessel ride-alongs.
  • Work towards progression into a future Vessel Manager position as part of our longer-term succession planning.
