Job summary

itison is seeking an Assistant Venue Manager at Sloans in Glasgow. The role leads a busy team across bistro, bar, outdoor spaces and large-scale events, delivering consistent high-quality service and experiences. You will collaborate with the Venue Manager to run day-to-day operations and drive sales through weddings, private dinners and events.

The position offers a competitive salary (£34k–£36k) plus approx. £5k in tips, with a potential bi-annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day venue operation across multiple service areas, leading from the front to deliver high-quality customer service, food and drink during busy services, weddings, events and private dining
• Manage a complex, high-volume operation, balancing the demands of the bar and bistro, outdoor spaces and large functions while maintaining consistency and standards
• Maintain exceptional organisation, with a strong focus on preparation, planning and forward-thinking to ensure seamless operations
• Train, coach and develop your team, building a positive, high-performing venue culture
• Demonstrate effective cost management showing a solid understanding of budgets, KPI’s and creating rotas whilst managing team cost
• Take responsibility for training the team & maintaining the high standards that are in place
• Display a strong knowledge of compliance management such as licensing, risk assessments and health & safety procedures
