Job summary

Machine Mart is seeking a Store Supervisor in Gateshead to co-manage a small team and drive daily operations. You will lead by example, motivate staff, and ensure excellent customer service while pursuing challenging sales targets.

The role requires up to 45 hours per week with time off in lieu for extra hours, and a focus on building rapport with customers to guide their decisions confidently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail customer service oriented or sales environment.
• Supervisory or junior management experience within a retail or field sales position.
• You’ll have practical knowledge of the product range served by Machine Mart.
• Proven ability to sell our product range and meet sales targets.
• You’ll deliver excellent customer service to all customers.
• Strong numeracy and basic computer literacy, with accuracy.
• Motivated, proactive team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ambition to succeed individually and as a co-leader of the team.

Responsibilities

• Working with the Store Manager, you’ll share joint responsibility for the day to day running of the store
• You will be working up to 45 hours per week
• all extra time worked is paid or can be taken as time off in lieu
• You’ll be leading by example, co-managing a small team of between 4 - 6 members of staff
• You’ll be committed to motivating your team to deliver a great customer experience as well as achieving challenging sales targets
• With a commitment to offering honest advice, you will build rapport with customers, exceeding their expectations and reassuring them when they’re bewildered by choice

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail customer service orientated or sales environment
• Supervisory or junior management experience within a retail or field sales position, ideally in a hard goods environment
• You’ll have practical experience / knowledge of some or all of our product range
• Proven ability to sell some or all of our product range
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service to all of our customers
• Proven experience in achieving sales targets
• You'll be a confident, enthusiastic team player
• Your personal skills should include accuracy and numeracy as well as basic computer literacy
• You’ll possess a high degree of self motivation and a can-do attitude
• You’ll demonstrate a desire to succeed both individually and as co-leader of the team
