Job summary

Helen & Douglas House is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for our new Moreton-in-Marsh shop. You will lead a team of volunteers, deliver excellent customer service, and help maximise sales from day one.

The role is permanent part-time, 30 hours per week, with weekend rota requirements. Full training will be provided and you will work under the Shop Manager and Area Manager guidance to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a busy retail environment.
• Experience in leading and coordinating volunteers.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the new Moreton-in-Marsh shop and act as ambassador for the charity.
• Work with volunteers to maximise shop sales and customer satisfaction.
• Provide training and support; liaise with Shop Manager and Area Manager.

The Vacancy

An exciting opportunity to lead our new homeware shop in Moreton-in-Marsh, opening next door to our already successful shop, and help shape its success from day one.

Assistant Shop Manager

• Hours:30 hours per week (worked 4 out of 7 days, inc weekend rota)

Join us as an Assistant Shop Manager in our new Moreton-In-Marsh shop and become an ambassador for our charity! We have a permanent part time position available working 30 hours per week.

You will join a busy shop and will work alongside a team of volunteers helping maximise the shop’s sales profits. Great customer service is crucial to what we do, so previous experience of charity retail would help you hit the ground running.

Full training will be provided, we are keen to work with people that have the right attitude so willingness to learn specific skills is equally as important as past experience. To thrive in this role, you will need a good eye for detail, strong organisational and IT skills, and the capability to manage volunteer teams in a variety of situations. You will be supported by the Shop Manager and Area Manager to achieve your objectives in these areas

The role will require you to work weekends on a rota basis. Flexibility is required as working patterns will change regularly, subject to the needs of the business and the levels of volunteers available to work.
