Job summary

ACS Automotive in the UK is recruiting an Assistant Service Manager for a busy franchised dealership in Gillingham. The role involves hands-on leadership of the service reception team, supporting colleagues and driving the department to meet performance targets.

We’re seeking someone with a strong automotive service background, ready to step up from Senior Service Advisor or move into a supervisory role, with ownership of front-of-house operations and a keen focus on customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive service management preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in franchised dealerships advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day service reception operations and deputise for Aftersales Manager.
• Motivate and support Service Advisors to deliver excellent customer care.
• Oversee bookings, updates and vehicle handovers.
• Explain additional work from health checks with clear costs.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and build relationships.
• Monitor progress, invoicing and admin to keep jobs moving.
• Coordinate courtesy vehicles with workshop colleagues.
• Help improve customer retention, efficiency and profitability.
