Job Description

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: up to £33,600pa

Venue closed on Sundays

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager at Searcys Barbican Brasserie, you will plan, organise, and deliver a successful operation of all events and hospitality with the relevant department heads' assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with other key personnel, including Restaurant, BOH, and sales departments, to deliver service that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Manage the restaurant and staff, liaising with them daily regarding business operations and staff delegation.
  • Train or provide training to staff to ensure they operate according to department standards, including agency or casual labour as required.
  • Monitor standards achieved in your department and report any concerns to line managers.
  • Liaise with key personnel in all crucial areas (kitchen, events, restaurant, bar) to ensure food and service provision are consistent and align with pre-agreed standards.
  • Handle customer complaints courteously and effectively, referring all complaints to the general manager when necessary.
  • Conduct regular checks of event areas for maintenance, housekeeping, and health and safety issues, reporting problems requiring immediate attention to the facilities department.
  • Deputise for the Restaurant Manager in their absence or when delegated.

Qualifications

  • Excellent product knowledge (food/beverage).
  • Experience in managing daily restaurant operations and dinners.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills.
  • Initiative-taking, innovative mindset, and awareness of current market trends.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Experience in team management and leadership.
