Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Nottingham. The role suits someone with 1–3 years' experience who wants more responsibility and exposure to live projects.

You will support commercial management, prepare valuations, assist with cost reporting, subcontractor management, and help produce final accounts while developing toward a Quantity Surveyor level. Piling experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Construction or civil engineering experience
• A relevant Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management qualification, or working towards one
• Good understanding of commercial processes
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ambition to progress into a Quantity Surveyor role

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial management of live projects
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment
• Assisting with cost reporting and forecasting
• Subcontractor procurement and management
• Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
• Assisting with variations, compensation events and change control
• Supporting final accounts
• Producing commercial correspondence and maintaining project records
• Working closely with project teams to identify commercial risks and opportunities
