Assistant Project Manager – Facilities Management

Location: Manchester, M30

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + 25 days annual leave & bank holidays + life cover + private healthcare & excellent benefits scheme

About the Role

Facilitate Search is working with one of the UK’s largest FM service providers to recruit an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Projects team, supporting the successful delivery of Moves & Changes and lifecycle projects across our Facilities Management portfolio.

Working closely with experienced Project Managers, you’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, on time, and to budget, while maintaining excellent communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

What You’ll Deliver
  • Support Project Managers in the coordination and delivery of Moves & Changes and lifecycle projects.
  • Liaise with clients to interpret and develop project briefs / scopes, securing approval at each stage.
  • Maintain project documentation to ensure a fully auditable administrative trail in line with ISO accreditation.
  • Assist in planning, procurement, design review, commissioning, and project completion processes.
  • Help procure and manage competent contractors and suppliers, ensuring all works meet required safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor progress, coordinate activities on site, and support project review meetings in line with best practice.
  • Ensure all sub-contractors follow company and site procedures (induction, clearances, competence checks, etc).
  • This role would suit experienced Project Co-ordinators or someone that has operated within a project management team looking for a clear route to becoming a Project Manager.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience supporting projects within a Facilities Management or Built Environment setting.
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness and understanding of project processes.
  • Sound organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • A proactive, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
