Full Job Description

A leading consumer goods business that works across both food and non-food sectors is looking to appoint a product technologist to manage key quality assurance processes for essential product areas.

The Company

Their products are sold across the UK and Europe. The technical team is growing, and they have created a new role for an Assistant Product Technologist.

The Role

• Conduct product risk assessments, technical benchmarking, and user trials to ensure products meet guidelines.
• Approve samples, packaging artwork, copy, instruction manuals, and relevant documentation, meeting agreed timescales to deliver products for sale.
• Ensure compliance with Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation.
• Organise in-line and pre-shipment inspections.
• Coordinate with testing houses and suppliers to ensure products meet standards and legislation in the UK and other countries.
• Analyze returns and develop corrective action plans and improvements.
• Provide technical advice and support to buying and customer service teams.

About You

You will have demonstrable experience in a Quality role. The position can be flexible depending on experience, so you may already be working as an established QA Technologist / Product Technologist or could be a Junior / Trainee / Assistant QA Technologist. Experience across categories such as food, FMCG, DIY, toys, paints, or cosmetics would be advantageous.
