Role: Specification Technologist - 12 month FTC

Location: Fully remote

Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary, fully remote role with no travel requirements, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, additional annual leave with service, option to buy extra leave, charity days, time off for charity support, payroll charity scheme, and cycle to work scheme.

Russell Taylor Group has multiple Specification Technologist roles available, all fully remote, with an ideal start date of April 1st, 2025.

Applicants must have previous experience and understanding of labelling requirements and retailer policies. The role involves ensuring food product data compliance with UK regulations and supporting retailer customer needs.

Responsibilities

1. Check and approve specifications and artwork for UK retailers.
2. Interpret and apply legal guidelines for clients.
3. Provide clear solutions for product information and labelling.
4. Work according to policies and guidelines.
5. Explain decisions to clients and advise retailers on best practices for food product labelling in accordance with UK regulations.
6. Monitor industry changes to ensure ongoing compliance with legal and consumer expectations.

The Person

1. Experience working for a food manufacturer or retailer.
2. Experience reviewing specifications and packaging copy.
3. Knowledge of artwork review, formulation review, and regulatory aspects in the food or supplement industry.
4. Experience with artwork systems and packaging.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large data sets.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
