The Vacancy

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our Finance Team in Finsbury Park. The role involves leading, managing, and developing the Wates Living Space Maintenance weekly and monthly Payroll using COINS and Impact Response.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Supervise and coordinate activities of payroll staff.
  2. Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements.
  3. Ensure payroll is processed accurately, compliantly, and timely.
  4. Prepare payroll-related documents.
  5. Administer benefit plans.
  6. Oversee statutory reporting and filing compliance.
  7. Compile payroll data and prepare reports.
  8. Monitor staff appointments, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  9. Prepare payroll account reconciliations and maintain accurate account balances.
  10. Review and improve payroll policies and procedures.
  11. Maintain employee data systems and records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  12. Support internal and external payroll audits.
  13. Process payroll checks for executive staff.
  14. Interpret new payroll legislation.
  15. Manage and resolve payroll issues.
  16. Performance manage and develop payroll staff.
Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced and certified (CIPP Qualification) payroll professional with solid financial knowledge, experience with Tax, NI, payroll calculations, and processing. Proficiency in payroll and accounting software and knowledge of current payroll legislation are essential.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator at all levels, with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills to positively impact the team and business.
